Replacement wood insert connector (pack of 5) / turning accessories
Pack of 5 wood insert connectors.
It is an ideal method for preparing all types of products on the lathe that a wood insert screw may not be suitable for. For example, if the wood could crack, you can use these connectors with glue. Simply drill the desired diameter and depth, glue the connector into the hole, and then use it to attach to the lathe or kit.
It is also perfect for joining two pieces of wood together. Simply drill both pieces and insert two wood connectors (one in each piece). You can then screw or screw the two parts together. This is ideal for walking sticks and other longer pieces.
The required drill size for these connectors depends on the desired fit. If you want to use these by pinching them into the wood (which is a great solution thanks to the grooves), try using a drill bit that's slightly smaller than the diameter of the connector:
M4: 6mm drill
M6: 8mm drill
M8: 10mm drill bit
If you want to glue these connectors add 0.5mm to these sizes. Or more, depending on the viscosity of the glue.
Only the M8 wood insert connector (WT_WIC-M8) is compatible with all kits that also use a Wood Insert Screw (WT_WSI) such as: BSKP – Tapered bottle caps, BSSS – Stainless steel bottle caps, BSKB – Bottle cap with ball head, BUL – Bullet style bottle caps, BOT1 – Bottle opener kit, HONSHF – Honey Dipper Kit, etc. The M8 wooden connector (WT_WIC ) is therefore also compatible with the Heavy-duty mandrel (HDMAN).
As with all WTTech kits, wooden and acrylic parts or other materials to be processed are not included. We leave the choice of material to you, the craftsman!
