Ballpoint pen PSI Maya Quetzalcoatl – Twist ballpoint pen kit
Create a pen rich in world history, symbolism and design. Authentic, antique Maya details abound:
The pen cap depicts a step pyramid topped by the face of the sun god Kinich Ahau sticking out his tongue to solicit sacrifices. Wrapped beneath is the serpent god Quetzalcoatl, a deity worshiped in ancient Mesoamerica.
At the top of the clip is the most revered symbol of all, the jaguar. Rulers, warriors and priests worshiped this big cat. Below the jaguar is a sacrificial knife, a symbol of ritual sacrifice, but also a symbol of a fierce and fearsome people who built an empire and whose descendants still walk the earth.
Each of the 20 sun signs of the Maya is depicted in exceptional detail on the pen band. The Maya had their own time system, starting with day 0. Their Tzolkin calendar consists of 13 repetitions of 20 different days or sun signs depicted on the tape.
