FAQ

use of the shop

Can I order your products online?
Absolutely. In our secure online shop you can buy all available and in stock products.

What do I do if an item is "sold out"?
As soon as a product reaches a critical inventory level, products will be reordered. If you are interested in a specific product, please feel free to contact us via the contact form Let us know your interest. We may be able to give you an update on your reorder status.

Can I reach you by phone?
As much as we would like to be available by phone during the day, we have decided to decline this option. The reasons for this are generally to improve customer service. Although this may sound strange, the passion of the woodturner and woodworker is highly technical. It is not possible to send image attachments over the phone. It is not possible to check up-to-date and accurate information after a phone call. It is not possible to reliably and quickly provide a quote for a product over the phone. It is not possible to forward a tracking link over the phone. In addition, WTTech delivers quality products to customers across Europe and although we are native speakers of German, English and French, sometimes accents and dialects are difficult to understand. For all these reasons, we consider email to be a superior and more reliable form of communication and therefore prefer to provide you with accurate, technical and descriptive information via this channel. In accordance with § 5 Para. 1 No. 2 TMG, we have decided not to provide a telephone for communication with our customers

I'm using the (language) version of the website, why are the translations so strange?
As we are woodworkers and not professional translators, we use an automated plugin based on Google Translate to translate our website. This often results in strange translations that can prove hilarious or frustrating at times. We sincerely apologize for this and thank you for your patience while browsing our website. Instructions are available in English, for which we use DeepL recommend if you are looking for a more accurate, free translation service.

WTTech products

I bought a pen kit but when I received it the pen was not ready.
Yes, that's normal. WTTech.de is an online shop aimed specifically at woodturners and woodworkers. This means that a "project kit" is just that... a "project kit".kit" unless expressly stated otherwise. This is not a finished product. The images on the product pages are for the wood turner's or woodworker's inspiration only.

The kit I bought is quite complicated. Do you have instructions for this?
Yes indeed! Our instructions can be found on the product page (usually in the description text) as .PDF files in English. There is also a page " instructions “, where these can be found.

No, the instructions didn't help. Help me!
Feel free to use that contact form (Category: product inquiry) and we will get back to you.

Why is there a different logo or name on the label of my kit?
WTTech works in proud partnership with the best designers and manufacturers of wood turning and other woodworking products from around the world. These include suppliers and designers such as Prokraft and Penn State Industries . We work very closely with their teams to offer you the highest quality at the best prices.

Are your kitchen and bar products certified food safe?
If stated, yes: These products are manufactured to strict guidelines for use in and around food. Whether they are made from grade 304 or 316 stainless steel or have a chrome or gold plating, these items are food safe and corrosion resistant. However, it is important to note that even highly durable materials can become susceptible to corrosion in some aggressive environments. This is why, for example, we do not recommend leaving bottle caps in wine bottles for several days or weeks, or storing opened wine bottles with caps horizontally.

payment

What payment methods are accepted?
We currently only accept bank transfers (our preferred form of payment) and PayPal , through which you may be able to pay by SEPA direct debit, credit card and other payment methods. All transactions are in EUR.

I represent an official authority or organisation. Can I pay "on account"?
Payment "on account" for public authorities is only possible by prior arrangement. Please contact WTTech directly before placing an order, as only payments by direct bank transfer and Paypal are possible in the webshop.

When I go to checkout, I get the message "By placing your order, you agree to..." why get me this message ?
Under German law, we must ensure that the buyer agrees to our terms and conditions, privacy policy and returns policy before making a purchase. These policies can be viewed by clicking on "Terms and Conditions", "Privacy Policy" and "Cancellation Policy".

shipment

How much does delivery cost?
Depending on your geographical location and the weight of your order, the shipping costs will vary. When you add items to your shopping basket, you will be prompted to go to the shopping basket. There you will receive an estimate for Germany by default. If you do not live in Germany, you will be asked to enter your postal address and select a payment method. In the next step, you will receive the final costs for your country. If you agree, accept the terms and conditions and confirm the order. Of course, large quantities increase the postage costs due to the additional weight. Please contact us via the contact form to clarify the shipping costs for such bulk orders.

The shipping estimate has changed after I entered my correct address. Why did this happen?
The shipping costs are calculated as soon as an address has been entered. Up to this point, Germany is the default destination country. After entering the correct address, the weight and size details of your order are processed and the exact shipping costs are calculated by the webshop.

The shipping estimate originally indicated that shipping was free, but now it no longer does. Why has this happened?
We offer free shipping for all domestic orders over 100 euros, but currently not for international orders. The original "free" estimate was based on an incorrect destination country. After you entered your EU address, the system was able to create a correct estimate based on the destination, size and weight of the parcel.

Which postal service do you use?
Currently we use DHL our standard service.

Is it possible to request a different delivery service?
On request, we can also use other services such as Hermes, UPS, Fedex or DPD. Please contact in front Please contact us prior to your purchase if you would like us to use an alternative service so that we can ensure that such options are available for your address. Depending on your location, some of these options may not be available. We only ship to EU locations (see below). If you live in a "remote area" within the EU, the shipping calculator may not show an accurate shipping cost. Also, if your ordered quantity is unusually large, the estimate may not be accurate. We will contact you directly by email to resolve these issues.

Which countries do you ship to?

We currently only ship to certain countries defined by DHL as zones 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Zone 1: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark (excluding Faroe Islands, Greenland), Estonia, Finland (excluding Åland Islands), France (excluding overseas territories and departments), Greece (excluding Mount Athos), Hungary, Ireland, Italy (excluding Livigno and Campione d'Italia), Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands (excluding non-European territories), Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (excluding Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla)

Zone 2: Switzerland, Great Britain

Zone 3: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Turkey, Faroe Islands

Zone 5: Canada

We reserve the legal right to refuse or cancel orders from territories and countries outside these locations. We also reserve the right to cancel any order if the address has been given in error or deliberately misrepresented in order to avoid pricing.

the Default setting of the webshop assumes a German address for tax and shipping costs. The settings for the Tax rate and the Shipping will be charged as soon as an address has been entered or stored in the customer account.

The website states „Delivery time X days“ – what does that mean?
Although we strive to get your order to you to dispatch on the day of receipt, we do not take particularly busy days or public holidays into account. As the DHL collection service we work with does not operate at weekends or on public holidays in Saarland, we assume, as a precaution, that your parcel will be on its way to you within 2–4 days. This timeframe only takes into account the period between payment of your order and the time it arrives at the DHL depot. Delivery delays are, of course, a separate matter. See below.

How long does the delivery take?
This can vary due to a number of factors, most of which are outside of our control. Shipping (the time between the package leaving us and it arriving with you) is difficult to quantify, but a good rule of thumb is: Within Germany, 2-5 days, and for the rest of the EU, approximately 5-8 days. Outside of Germany and Zone 1 (EU), delivery times will be extended, but in our experience, usually take 7 to 14 days.

Do you offer insured deliveries?
Absolutely. All our PAKET deliveries via DHL and Hermes are insured up to a value of 500 EUR according to their terms and conditions. No additional insurance is offered. WTTech assumes no liability for transport damage. All DHL EU PARCEL and goods shipments are delivered without transport insurance or tracking.

What happens if I do not receive my parcel after the deadline mentioned above? For all shipments (including uninsured „DHL EU Parcels“ and „Goods Shipments“), DHL can track the whereabouts of your parcel. This is usually only possible two weeks after the parcel has been dispatched, and unfortunately, processing the enquiry can take up to four weeks. If the parcel arrives before the enquiry has been completed, it is important that you contact us immediately to let us know it has arrived.

security

Is your site secure?
Absolutely. This website runs in secure HTTP mode and is therefore "secure". You can recognise this in some browsers by the yellow lock symbol in the address bar and by the fact that the address of the page begins with "https://".

Do you offer secure payment?
Yes absolutely. We only accept 2 secure payment methods: Klarna, PayPal and direct bank transfers.

To protect the environment

What does the “Der_Grüner_Punkt” logo mean in your imprint?
Under German law, all companies that send physical parcels to customers must join a packaging licence system. WTTech's packaging licence is issued in cooperation with The green dot. In doing so, we strive to be an environmentally conscious company and we encourage you, the customer, to do the same. Please follow local regulations when disposing of any plastic or cardboard containers you receive from us. It's not only the right thing to do, it's the ethical thing to do.

Why is there no receipt in my package?
As a participant in the German packaging license system The green dot we try to reduce our consumption of plastic, paper and cardboard packaging and pads to an absolute minimum. Therefore, no paper receipt will be enclosed with your package. However, you will receive a separate electronic receipt for your order via email in .pdf format. If you would like a physical receipt, please let us know during the checkout process.
